MTN e-SIM launched in Ghana with 10GB data upon activation

MTN e-SIM in Ghana. Customers of MTN, including Prepaid, Postpaid, and business users, may now use the eSIM. The MyMTN App provides digital access to the eSIM features. Customers whose phone numbers are already registered with MTN will have them updated to eSIM.

A virtual SIM card is incorporated into mobile and smart devices at the moment of production and is known as a “eSIM.” On a single SIM device, mobile users can move between different mobile numbers without changing SIM cards.

A 10GB, one-time, non-expiring data bundle will be provided with every new eSIM activation.

The introduction of eSIM is in line with MTN’s vision ‘to lead the delivery of a bold, new digital world to its customers’ and fulfil its Ambition 2025 objectives

Does MTN Ghana Support eSim – ESim (Embedded Sim) is a form of programmable SIM card that is embedded directly into a device. An eSIM allows you to remotely provision it, users can add or remove operators. Without the need to physically swap a SIM from the device.

Accra 20th December 2022. MTN Ghana has introduced eSIM also known as embedded or Electronic SIM.

At the moment of production, mobile and smart devices are constructed with an eSIM, a virtual SIM. Customers benefit from the simplicity of switching between several mobile numbers without any delay on a single SIM device. Customers may connect smart gadgets like their smartphones, tablets, and wearables using an MTN eSIM.

How to activate MTN e-SIM

Both Pay-As-You-Go (Prepaid) and Postpaid individual and business subscribers have access to the eSIM. It is accessible online through the MyMTN App. Customers whose phone numbers are already registered with MTN will have them updated to eSIM.

Using the Ghana Card, new subscribers would go through the standard registration procedure and have their biometric information taken. All new eSIM activations come with a free 10GB one-off non-expiry data bundle upon successful activation.

Simply dial *#06#. The barcodes will display EID number to confirm the device is compatible as you can see in the picture below.

if no EID is displayed, this means the device is not eSIM compatible.
